NIUE PUBLIC SERVICE - JOB VACANCIES

The Niue Public Service Commission invites expression of interest/applications for the following vacancies within the Niue Public Service.

MINISTRY OF SOCIAL SERVICES

Department of Education

Junior School Teacher Year 1 – 3, Niue Primary School (one vacant position)

To work collaboratively with the Principal and other colleagues in order to ascertain the provision of a high standard of education that will cater for students needs at Niue Primary School as per following specific responsibilities;

  • Curriculum Delivery (The style and approach to teaching)
  • Curriculum Content (Skills, knowledge and attitudes to be taught and learned)
  • Assessment (Checking pupil’s progress and achievements)
  • Reporting (Keeping parents informed of their children’s progress and achievements)
  • Extra Curricular Activities

MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES

Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries

Principal Fisheries Officer (one vacant position)

Holds the responsibility to coordinate the activities of the Fisheries in line with Government Policies and developments in the region and to oversee all the development of the local resources to ensure long term viability.

Niue Meteorological Service

Meteorology Trainees (two vacant positions)

Trainees will be responsible for;

  • Carrying out climate observation and weather observations;
  • Undertake data entry on climate, observations and archiving/storage (MET 301, SPARCE, CLIDE, Weather Monitoring)
  • Maintain cleanliness of the climate site and equipment;
  • Perform competency assessment and written examination after 6 months on the job training;
  • Work after hours for providing Meteorology Aviation Reports at the completion of the competency assessment;
  • Assist with the development of the 3-day weather forecast and tv weather;
