The Niue Public Service Commission invites expression of interest/applications for the following vacancies within the Niue Public Service.

Department of Utilities

1. WATER GENERAL MANAGER – Water Supply Division

The Water General Manager will be responsible for the daily operations within the division for the;

  • Daily supervision of the Water Division work program and staff;
  • Coordinate and implement work program for the management of the water supply systems around Niue and carry out maintenance work as and when required;
  • Arrange to develop, implement and maintain a database for all water supply assets, storage and analysis of water qualify data, reservoir meter readings, pump data, bore logs, hydrological data and water network plans;
  • Develop, plan, and design of water supply systems which include pumps and reservoir selection, network analysis and computer mapping;
  • Provide technical advice for any water related and plumbing projects;

2. ASSISTANT BUILDING & ROADS INSPECTOR (Temporary) – Regulatory & Compliance Division

The Assistant Building & Roads Inspector will be responsible to the Building & Roads Inspector and Principal Building Regulator to assist;

  • To perform duties of building technology as required under the Niue National Building Code Regulations on identified Building Projects;
  • Implement and administrative related tasks on building and engineering constructions;
  • Provide building and technology logistics and information as required by clients;
  • Researching, consult and planning settings of construction tasks in according to building details provided;
  • Monitoring to ensure working practices by building contractors are adhered to the Building Code Practices;

Department of Transport

3. RESCUE FIRE FIGHTER TRAINEE – Rescue Fire Services Division

The Rescue Fire Fighter Trainee supports Rescue Fire Service operational activities to ensure effective and safety procedures are complied with at all times.  The main role is to actively and competently contribute to the overall objectives of the division;

  • To comply with all regulations and procedures as promulgated by the Chief Rescue Fire Officer and to obey all lawful instructions given by the Superior Officer.
  • To maintain a high standard of proficiency as an operator of all rescue fire appliances, equipment and marine equipment.

4. MARITIME COORDINATOR - Maritime Division

The successful applicant is responsible to the Maritime Administrator to support the management and implementation of the Maritime Division work programme to;

  • Coordinate with government agencies on all matters relating to national maritime policies, legislation and conventions to streamline and encourage smooth operations, including acting as liaison between these entities.
  • Manage the Division’s expenditure and performance according to Treasury Regulations and implement appropriate initiatives to achieve maximum revenue earning.

5. OPERATOR TRAINEE – Outside Services Division

The Operator Trainee is mandated to assist the staff within the Outside Services division with its daily operations;

  • Support outside services staff during port operations and devanning of goods;
  • Operate heavy equipment/machineries;
  • Assist during emergency responses;

6. MANAGER - Corporate Services Division

The Corporate Services Manager is responsible to the Director of Transport for the administrative, financial and logistical operations of the Department.  The successful applicant is required to;

  • Manager and supervise the Corporate Services Division which is responsible for the provision of prompt and professional customer services;
  • Support the Director of Transport and Divisional Heads of the Department of Transport by overseeing the administrative, financial and logistical operations for the department as a whole;


Department of Health

7. PHYSIOTHERAPIST - Medical & Clinical Division

The Physiotherapist is required to;

·         Provide physiotherapy to all patients who had injuries and in need of rehabilitation care and follow up. 

·         Perform individual assessment of patients with diverse and complex conditions and help improve their range of movement and promotes health and wellbeing;

·         Provide a physiotherapy diagnosis and develop and deliver a patient focused treatment programme;

Department of Education

8. TEACHERS(s) – Niue Primary School and Niue High School

The Education Department is looking for qualified teachers to work collaboratively with the Heads of Department, Principal and other colleagues/teaching staff in order to attain the provisions of high standard of education that will cater for students needs at Niue Primary School or Niue High School.

Person Specification:

All of the above teaching positions, ideally should have;

  • Teaching certificate and recognized tertiary qualification in relevant subject area;
  • Teaching Registration;
  • Has a sound understanding of the required curriculum and the processes involved in curriculum assessments and evaluation;
  • Competent oral and written communication skills in both Niue and English;
