MINISTRY OF SOCIAL SERVICES

Department of Health

Medical Doctor (Female) – Medical & Clinical Division

The Niue Foou Hospital is looking specifically for a female medical doctor with experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and Orthopaedics. 

Should be able to carry out general and emergency care, and be able to provide the Chief Medical Officer and the Director of Health quality advice and assistance on clinical matters. 

Have basic surgical experience and have the proven ability to improve and strengthen the quality of the clinical services. 

Should also have good networking skills to enhance growth in professional capacity, capability and development amongst staff.

 

Qualification & Skills

·         An appropriate medical qualification from an accredited or recognized medical tertiary education provider or University as per Section 21 of the Niue Act 1966

·         Medically fit mentally and physically and not be subject to any debilitating pre-existing medical conditions

·         Has 5 or more years of practical experience in general medicine as well, as in general and emergency surgical operations

·         The ability to make appropriate clinical judgement of any medical condition at anytime

·         Cooperates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals

·         Maintains a consistent and sensible pattern of behaviour under pressure

·         Demonstrated capacity for sustained effort and hard work

·         Committed to delivering high quality outcomes for patients

·         Postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Physiotherapist - Medical & Clinical Division

The Physiotherapist is required to;

·         Provide physiotherapy to all patients who had injuries and in need of rehabilitation care and follow up. 

·         Perform individual assessment of patients with diverse and complex conditions and help improve their range of movement and promotes health and wellbeing;

·         Provide a physiotherapy diagnosis and develop and deliver a patient focused treatment programme;

Qualification & Skills:

Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy and current practising certificate;

Current First Aid or CPR certificate

Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience

Excellent communication skills and fluent in spoken and written Vagahau Niue and English

Have the skills and competencies necessary to care for patients;

Assistant Health Service Manager – Administration Division

 

The Administration Assistant is responsible to the Health Services Manager for the provision of effective administration and secretarial support services to the Department of Health.

Provide assistance with writing of reports, submissions for the Department of Health;

Ensure effective and up to date recording and filing of patients files;

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and timely payments for local and overseas purchases, including follow up of medical purchases;


Qualification & Skills:

At least a Diploma or Certificate in Management;

Minimum of 3 years’ working in management roles within the Public Service or Private sector environment;

Understanding of internal best practices;

Processes good computer literacy skills and uses a range of software applications in Microsoft Word and Excel;

Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English and Vagahau Niue
