The Government of Niue advises the public that a fuel price adjustment will take effect from Monday 1st June 2026, reflecting ongoing increases in global fuel costs. This adjustment forms part of the Government’s staged approach to managing rising costs while minimising impacts on households and essential services.
The new retail prices from 12:00am, Monday 1st June 2026 are:
· Petrol: Cost per Litre will increase from $3.80 to $4.00 per litre
· Diesel: Cost per Litre will increase from $4.00 to $4.20 per litre
Fuel Situation Update
Fuel supplies remain stable and available as normal, with no rationing in place. However, global market conditions remain uncertain, and further price increases may occur in the coming months. The Government continues to monitor the situation closely to maintain supply and support essential services.
What Government Is Doing
The Government is implementing staged fuel price adjustments and monitoring supply through established systems. Price changes are being introduced gradually.
Fuel is prioritised for essential services, and these services include Power, water, health, emergency services, aviation, ports, and infrastructure operations will continue without disruption to ensure public safety.
The Niue Renewable Energy Project at Hikufenoga is scheduled for commissioning in July 2026.

Fuel remains available with no restrictions. There is no need to panic buy or stockpile.
