The Prime Minister of Niue, Hon. Dalton Tagelagi, today was presented with the Letter of Credence from Her Excellency Ms. Nicole Menzenbach, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Niue.
Her Excellency arrived in Niue this afternoon, and is the first Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany accredited to Niue. Her appointment follows the establishment of diplomatic relations between Niue and Germany on the 3rd February 2026 and reflects the growing relationship between the two countries. Ambassador Menzenbach brings more than 30 years of diplomatic experience, having held senior appointments within the German Federal Foreign Office.
Prime Minister Hon. Dalton Tagelagi welcomed Her Excellency and acknowledged the significance of her appointment.
"We are pleased to welcome Her Excellency Ms. Nicole Menzenbach to Niue and look forward to building a strong and enduring partnership between our two countries through cooperation on shared priorities."
During the credential ceremony, Her Excellency reaffirmed Germany's commitment to strengthening its partnership with Niue through cooperation on shared priorities, including climate action, human rights and democratic values. She also expressed her interest in learning more about Niue's culture and exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration between the two countries.
Her Excellency will meet with Cabinet Ministers on Monday to discuss areas of mutual interest before concluding her visit and departing for New Zealand.
