The Government of Niue through the Ministry of Social Services, is pleased to announce the return of the Niue Arts Festival, set to commence on April 22nd 2025.

The anticipated event will highlight the artistic heritage of Niue, bridging generations by celebrating both traditional and contemporary art forms.

Following the success of the last Niue Arts and Culture Festival in 2019, this year’s festival will take place over three days, showcasing the diverse and evolving talents of local Niuean artists. Through various art media, participants will create pieces that reflect Niue’s unique cultural identity while embracing modern artistic expressions.

"The Niue Arts Festival is an important event that brings our community together, celebrating the richness of our cultural identity while encouraging creative evolution. We are excited to showcase the incredible talent of local Niuean artists and share their work with the world." said Hon. Sonya Talagi, Minister of Social Services.

As part of the festival’s revival, the Creative NZ Art Residency Programme has been established as a joint initiative between Creative New Zealand Pacific Arts Strategy and the Ministry of Social Services, Government of Niue.

This exciting program will provide an Aotearoa-based artist or arts practitioner of Pacific Islands heritage the unique opportunity to embark on a two-month creative residency in Niue. The selected artist will work closely with the local community, developing their project while facilitating workshops and exchanges that enrich the Niuean arts sector.
