Air New Zealand has completed its first commercial night-time departure from Niue since 2013, marking an important step forward for the island’s aviation capabilities.

Flight NZ936 was originally due to leave Auckland at 9:00 AM on Friday but was delayed by severe weather in New Zealand. The aircraft landed in Niue at 5:55 PM, too late for a same-day daylight turnaround making a night departure necessary.

The Government of Niue looks forward to the opportunities this milestone brings for increased connectivity, tourism, and long-term economic benefits for the island.
