Fakaalofa lahi atu kia mutolu oti, mua atu kia mutolu e tau matakainaga Niue ne kua nonofo takai he lalolagi. Greetings and welcome to Niue Online.
On behalf of the Government and the people of Niue, it is a great privilege to welcome you all to our Niue Government official website. This website provides news and information about the Government and People of Niue. We are grateful to modern technology for this wonderful invention whereby we can reach you all from our very own country called Niue, also referred to as the Rock of Polynesia, as it is aptly named for tourism purposes, but it is also known under many names: Motu-te-fua, [an island without fruit] Fakahoa-motu [an island on its own] and Nuku-tuluea [an island that appears out of nowhere] and Nuku-tutaha [an island that stands alone.]
Niue is a self governing nation state in close association with New Zealand its constitutional partner and are New Zealand citizens. Being bilingual, we hope to bring to you the news in Niuean and English.
To those Niueans living elsewhere in the world you can now enjoy your country from the comfort of your own living rooms or anywhere you have access to the internet. There are many stories to write and we invite you, whether you are Niuean or just visiting this site, to visit, taste and experience the real Niue. Air New Zealand provides a once weekly jet service between Niue and Auckland.
Last but not the least, thank you for visiting this website and we trust that you will entertain an intention to visit as you browse through our news, stories and pictures that are contained in this website.
Monuina e totouaga ha mutolu ke he tau tala tutupu, tau tala tu fakaholo ke he motu ko Niue.
